UV Overlap Select
It would be nice if we were able to select overlapping UVs in 2.8. Lets say I have a lot of messy uv islands that I made with "Smart UV Project". I want to clean it up a bit. Most importantly check if there are any overlapping UVs - because it will create issues when texturing. Right now I don't know a way to check it, so I have to go around and find problems manually.

Would be nice if it could select exact overlapping islands OR partially overlapping parts. Exact overlaps are more likely done on purpose, but it's still handy to be able to select them.
@Andrew Palmer: Yep, good point.
Does it suppose to select random one of the overlapping couples? What if more than two island overlaps? Maybe overlapping parts can be highlighted instead of selected. More overlappings highlights more.
I think at this point just highlighting what's overlapping is fine. It doesn't have to be complex. IT JUST NEEDS TO GIVE IDEA WHERE TO LOOK AT IN THIS MESS.
There's a discussion about this feature over at devtalk if folks want to comment or follow there: devtalk.blender.org/t/implementing-select-overlapping-for-the-uv-editor-re-work-of-d2865
The initial implementation attempt, which is not complete nor works, selects (not highlights) overlaps at the face level (mostly to account for islands that intersect itself)
