Option for the Mirror Modifier to work only with the mirrored geometry

It would be useful to have an option in the Mirror Modifier to hide the original object so that you can work only with the mirrored geometry. To visualize my idea, I used Geometry Nodes:

You could easily make your own mirror modifier with Geometry Nodes, and add that hide option to it. But I don't see how this functionality would be anyway different from just disabling the modifier.

Other way to achieve something like this is to have the “Source” mesh in one object, then link that to the other object to which you add the modifiers. Then you can use Local Collections in Viewport to see and edit only the source mesh. And in other viewport, you can have the mesh with modifiers.

I personally like to work this way, as it allows me to edit source mesh without obstruction while still seeing the end results in real time.

Hi, kimmo The desired functionality is not to hide the result (A'), but rather the source object (A). I would like to have the freedom to switch the visiblitiy of the source object, the result, and both objects. At the same time, the procedural flexibility of the modifier stack should be retained for both objects. Above all, I would like to be able to work with the mirror object (e.g., an empty) in the Mirror Modifier.
