Option to render frames / render final composition
Rendering first different light passes to frames and then compositing them to animation gives better control on different components and avoids losing animation in case of a crash.
However, this needs different setup in the compositor and sometimes I end up re-rendering the frames when I just need to use the files or writing the composition as new frames.
Maybe we could have in the Render menu: -Render Frame (F12) -Render Frame Range (Shift F12) -Render Animation (Ctrl F12)
Rendering Frame Range would just render the frames into file(s), while Render animation would render the whole composition tree. Or maybe they could have their own output-nodes in compositor.
Or am I just using it incorrectly?

There's already a setting in Blender to render the frame range desired; how does it not suit your needs?
