boolean modifier creates vertex/edge groups for use by following bevel modifiers
using the bevel modifier after a boolean is problematic because it's difficult to limit the bevel to the newly created edges.
To fix this the boolean modifier should create a vertex group called "boolmodname_NewSharpEdges", which could then be used by following bevel modifiers.
Obviously edge groups would be a million times better than vertex groups for this, because if you have opposite edges on one face, then all 4 edges will get bevelled, rather than just the two which are part of the group. But this is a dream which hopefully someone over at blender will understand the benefit of one day.

It would be super handy for non-destructive workflows. Example: I'm making a camera mount (3d resin printing) that has several different holes (for screws, cables, etc.). it has different bevels (rounds) on different edges, most of them the result of booleans. My only viable option now is to apply the booleans and bevels. Here's the reason I'd like them non-destructive: The base of the mount fits over corrugated metal siding. Which means I have to move the corrugation shape (another boolean) depending on where the camera mount will go on the wall.
