Confirm on Release option for Changing Brush Size (work faster!)

Edit: this proposal is now in the 2.93 Alpha build of Blender (we did it boys). Go to the Keymap editor and search for the F key under the sculpt category. Enable 'Confirm on Release' and have fun changing brush size!

In sculpt mode you tap F to activate radial control, you move your mouse/stylus to change the brush size, then you apply it with a click.

I propose to add an extra boolean property called something like 'Confirm on Release' to the radial control operator.

Mockup:

Basically, when ENABLED , releasing the F key will be enough to confirm the new brush size; no need to tap your stylus on the tablet. The process to resize a brush then becomes:

[ F Press ]>[ Mousemove ]>[ F Release ]

I'm aware there are many other tools that use the same radial control with different hotkeys, this is just an example.

Before anyone gets upset at this idea , this would be an extra option disabled by default; besides, some operators already have similar options, such as Loopcut ( Ctrl+R ).

'Confirm on Release' works a little differently with Loopcut than what I'm proposing, but the general idea is to save you an extra click if you're already familiar with the tool and just want to work a bit faster .

Next image is NOT a mockup, it's real. Try it out! Image

* @Hadrien Brissaud * I hope so. It's not essential but it would be cool to have this option.

Better this way (much flexible to customize).

* @IIIFGIII * that does look a lot better. I just screenshot the current properties of radial control and added 1 more. Thanks for your idea.

Great idea!

* @Steffen Hartmann * Thanks to J. Fran in the first comment, it's been coded and approved. Just got to wait for that code to appear in one of blender's releases.

Also an option to change brush size with zoom-in and out

ArmoredWolf Author

* @mrajendra2150 * that already exists. Brushes have a property with 2 options, VIEW and SCENE, selecting scene will give you the zbrush style where the brush size changes when you zoom in or out.
