Python API: Operate on several bmeshes as if they were 1.
I think the current way of modifying meshes with bmesh to be somewhat tedious if you want your script to be able to handle multiple objects. Currently, most tools/addons/scripts dont support modifying multiple objects at once - as it would require the developers to put in a lot of extra effort and make maintaining there scripts a lot harder.
Heres an example of how bmesh operations are performed today (for those that are willing to put in the effort of allowing multi mesh editing): blender.stackexchange.com/questions/154790/any-python-code-examples-of-bmesh-operations-on-multiple-objects
Ideally bmesh would have a function that abstracts the multiple objects away letting you operate on what to the Python scripter would act as just a single mesh, while under the hood it takes care of all the meshes in question for you. I believe this would encourage addon developers/scripters to add support for multi-object editing in there tools and lift weights of those developers that are already in the trench and also increase quality of the scripts. I believe it would also have the potential of improving script performance as more things could be handled by machine code.
For instance:
bmesh.from_edit_meshes(meshes: list[bpy.type.Mesh])
bmesh.update_edit_meshes(bmesh.types.BMesh)
