I applaud the sentiment, but why not, as mentioned, Gimp. Or Inkscape. Or Audacity, lmms, or even OBS which I used a couple times in the pipeline. Then there's ffmpeg which I used separate from Blender for years until recent improvements in the VSE.
The first issue is that you are picking winners and losers.
Well, maybe not you, but who? And what are the criteria? That it be open source? Phabricator is open source, and look where that got us. It certainly did not make me want to be in the same room as Facebook. I'd pick Unreal over Phabricator. Though not open source, the Unreal source is open. And it is as free as Blender until you make US$1 million on a product.
Secondly, Blender seems to have a phobia about mentioning other brands/trademarks in official channels, which I totally understand. This would go counter to that, and probably won't get traction.
Besides, there's an easy way for Godot or Unreal or anyone to get their logo on a Blender web page - support the Blender Foundation. [Writing this made me think to check - Unreal is not there, but Unity and Ubisoft are.]
also gimp. gimp even not as powerful as photoshop for editing nor krita for art is still a great tool for editing
