Snap Mouse to World Grid. (Not the 3d cursor but the mouse cursor./Useful feature to combine with the blueprint tool.)

Hello guys. I would like to propose a feature that would allow users to snap the cursor to the world grid. (Note this is not about the 3d cursor. This is about the mouse cursor.)

This would be very useful when it comes to draw functionalities in in the viewport. Similar to Mr. Pablo dabarros blueprint tool, this feature would make drawing shapes, line and curves more easier. Allowing the program to create properly constrained objects according to specific orientation based on the world grid.

Again going back to the blueprint tool. It probably focuses more on local grid snapping where a user can just point anywhere in an object and make that point a basis for its grid snapping origin; which makes it powerful in its specific purpose.

The world grid snapping on the other hand can also make the workflow more powerful. Because there are instances where the user would like to base its snapping not necessarily on an objects specific points/dimensions, instead the user would base the snapping dimensions according to the world grid.

Combining blueprint tool's local grid snapping and the propose world grid snapping would be a very powerful tool for blender. I hope we could consider a feature similar to this in the future.

Thank you blender dev team.

Blender already has this feature. Just turn on "absolute grid snap" in the snapping menu to make stuff snap to the grid. Although, there's only a world grid, not a local grid, so that could be a new feature. FYI, you can change grid scale in the overlays menu, which affects the increment snapping distance.

* @qwertquart * this feature is about the mouse cursor. Not about the vertex or the 3d cursor itself.

This is a base feature that would be useful when blender improves to a draw based lines, polygons, or curves in the near future. Blender 2.91 already is including the draw feature, although it is still focused on creating basic primitives.

The one i am proposing behaves like what blupribt tool does. Draw lines or shapes while at the same time snap the mouse cursor to the grid.

* @johnpdelacruz26 * Ohh, I guess I misunderstood your proposal. Thanks for the correction. So you want the mouse to have absolute grid snapping?

* @qwertquart * Yes. This is a starting foundation for the coming draw functions like the blueprint tool.
