Texture Paint - User feedback and Texture Slots wizard

New users with fresh default cube new scene select Texture Paint tab.

Draw brush is selected so draw on cube or UV layout. NOTHING HAPPENS! Change color and brush size, draw, NOTHING HAPPENS.

No clues or feedback to user. They quit blender.

Create new image in UV window. Draw, finally something shows up but not on default cube. "Missing Textures, detected". What now?

Fumble around and open N side bar by accident in 3d view - see Texture Slots and No Textures and the + button and a bunch of other stuff that won't do anything at this stage.

Click + button and pick Base Color. Draw. FINALLY!!! Start crying.

Suggestions:

When the Texture Paint tab is opened and there is no active texture image - Show a Texture Slots WIZARD to create or open a texture image or setup material images. Without these defined nothing else on the screen works and is very confusing to a new user.

and/or

"Missing Textures, detected" could say "No active Texture Slots defined - would you like to set them up now? <YES> <NO>" and show a Texture Slots wizard.

There is no use case for rubbing your model with a brush cursor and having absolutely nothing happen, yet this is the default behavior in Blender.

I don't even think a wizard is necessary. If I'm trying to paint on my model, just make it work. You know what I want, Blender, don't play games. Just do it.

We do have this just at the top of the viewport in the middle of all painting options:
texture wizard

"Missing Textures, detected" could say "No active Texture Slots defined - would you like to set them up now? <YES> <NO>" and show a Texture Slots wizard.

That, absolutely yes!
