Implementation of Freeze transformation similar to Maya

I wish that I am able to freeze transformation and center pivot on an object in Blender just like I can in Maya. When I try ways to freeze transformation in Blender, it always moves the object towards the origin point which isn't what I want. By freezing the transformation of the object it makes it easier for me to control the data in Blender and other apps.

You need to give us some visual examples in Blender, of what it does, and what you want it to do differently. Saying "like Maya" assumes we all know how Maya does things - which is not the case. Assume that we've never used Maya.

In Maya, Freeze Transforms zeros out the Location, Rotation and Scale values while retaining worldspace transformations on an object. This is similar to Apply Location, Rotation and Scale in Blender, but Blender will move the object's pivot location to the origin while Maya will retain the item's pivot location for subsequent transforms.

Blender's behavior regarding the pivot point was unexpected as a user coming over from Maya.

In Blender, to zero out the transform values while retaining the desired location in worldspace and the object's pivot, you can apply only rotation and scale and then apply the location to the delta transform:

  • Select Object in viewport
  • Ctrl A to bring up the Apply Menu (Also available in viewport dropdown menu Object->Apply)
    • Select "Rotation and Scale"
  • Ctrl A to bring up the Apply Menu
    • Select "Location to Deltas"
