Compositing output refresh
Add a "Refresh" button to refresh Composite/Viewer output. This button could be placed to the left of the "Backdrop" button up in the menu bar.
I currently have to detach and re-attach the connectors to both outputs to update/refresh the outputs view which seems a bit impractical.

That sounds like a bug, normally it just shows the result with no need to replug anything.
Exactly. The compositor always auto-refresh. If there's a case when it doesn't, it should be reported as a bug.
