Color Ramp Node Overhaul Rework Proposal
The color ramp is a very nifty node, so I created a proposal containing an amalgamation of ideas created by users on this site. Such as input nodes for each color slider & presets. In addition of group sliders & redesign of the node itself.
This idea was marked as a duplicate of Inputs for color-ramps.

Having inputs for individual stops would be dope.
* @Hadrien Brissaud * Yes, color stops input will be a great update to ramp node, I hope they'll add it so that my long lasting frustration will be cured :P
Brilliant! Those ramp colors sockets <3 I would even add a general "ramp" input to be able to get external ramps into shader groups.
this would make NPR shading a lot easier
The ColorRamp node definitely needs an update like this proposal.
This is much better than my version of this idea I had though of
I want this!!!!
See also D3965 UI: Color Ramp: Add Tools Menu for another discussion on adding new tools to color ramp which led to distribute buttons being added. Flip, Distribute, Eyedropper and Reset are now in a menu, which as discussed (and I agree) is less user-friendly (more clicks to reach frequently-used tools).
I think the proposed design is a little busy looking. Maybe horizontal/vertical mode and reset could be moved to a menu, and presets be moved to a popup (like those in properties panel). Could also offer a condensed mode (inputs, outputs, ramp and sliders only) for when user has finished setting up node and doesn't need all options immediately available.
Lastly, flip icon reads better as a two-headed arrow (proposed icon looks more like a shield).
