Pause and auto save render and bake
I have to say, I really get very worried, scared and anxious when a bake or render is being made. This is because I have the impression that this is a very fragile moment for the program. Anything, even if it's not a power outage, and the hours work can be lost. And that's why I started to wonder if the following functionalities would not be possible:

Autosave of bake and render; I imagine there is a way to do this by presetting where the file will be saved and its format. But, particularly, it NEVER worked out with me for an auto save. So, if this function already exists, please disregard.

Pause the process of a render and bake; you can even close the file, open another day, and then continue from where you left off.

Based on these two up there we would have a third thing:

Automatically and constantly save the file and update the data without risk of loss should a blackout happen, for example. It could be done with the program by pausing the file, saving, and then continuing the process in a second file. At the time of saving over, another file could be used to avoid damage at the time he was being saved. I hope this last part has not been confused. Anyway, this would be done during bake and render processes. And the time between each save could be set by the user before or after the process starts. Something like: every minute. This would be perfect for heavier renders of animation, for example.

Other advances in the rendering and bake system could be the possibility of doing these processes using more than one computer, and also networked computers, including renderfarms. But if I'm not mistaken this is already in Blender. It turns out, I've never been able to test.

"Autosave temporary file" is in preferences and works great with "Recover auto save" in file menu. There's an addon to automatically save render output. Also: when you save a blender file a new .blend@ file is created and if it write ok, it overwrites your original file, so if a crash or a blackout occurs, your file is safe anyway
* @ Lsscpp * for some reason never works with me. but ok, I imagined that. I'll keep trying to use the functionality.
* @thiagocavalcantecarvalho * also there is a settings of backup amount. So you can have .blend1, .blend2, etc versions. Gitversions addon is more advanced (branches){attachment 150244jpg}
* @ Vyacheslav * Where is it? do I have to activate some addon? I'm on 2.8 but I have 2.79
* @thiagocavalcantecarvalho * Preferences -> File
* @ Vyacheslav * found it. thank you very much for the guidance
ATM you can do startup file with simple compositor`s output to file. But pausing, continuing and merging render are cool. LuxRender have it. Ppl renders animation to png or exr sequence. So they can continue render right from next frame or fix/rerender piece. Or postprocess separately
