Diagram Editor
Ever wanted to brainstorm with a node tree in Blender? Well, then check out my proposal for a "Diagram Editor". It's an editor, similar to the shader editor window, except it's for making diagrams.
Diagram Types (Selectable from the data type menu in the top bar of the diagram editor):
-
Node
- Brainstorming diagrams
- Flow charts
- Network analysis (like Gephi)
-
Blueprint
- Floor plans
- Mechanical blueprints
-
Graph
- Line charts
- Pie charts
- And more
Node Types for Node Graphs:
-
Text node
- Text nodes have space for writing down hierarchical information and
- I made a little mockup of a text node in the thumbnail
-
Sketch node
- Sketch nodes have a space to make crude sketches (like sticky notes) and
That's all I've got for now. This idea is just a seed, but I think it could grow into something really cool. Write your ideas & critiques below. Upvote if you want a diagram editor in Blender too. If you don't want one, downvote.

* @yasharjk * Cool! Thanks for sharing.
I like the idea and i think it would be a great Addon to blender but I don't think it would be something to be shipped with the Blender Build. Maybe a developer might see this and develop an addon or you might be able to get the project rolling yourself by contacting a developer who might work on it with you and you could release this as a product on the Blender market and other places and makes some money!
* @TheWizardLord * Thanks, but I'm not interested in making money off this idea. I just want to make diagrams in Blender. Diagrams play such a critical role in most 3D projects. Animators make 2D storyboards, architects make floor plans, and so much more. On the SketchUp forum, one of the main reasons people don't want to make the switch is because there isn't a way to document & dimension your designs for clients. I can see how the graphs & pie charts might be unnecessary though, unless you're using Blender as a mathematician... Seems kinda rare. I think my design style could use a lot of improvement, but I really want a diagram editor nonetheless.
I literally searched for this.
