Snapping Measure Tool to Grid

I am hoping that we could add snapping to the Measure Tool so that we could utilize it more for CAD styled measurements. Being able to use the Measure Tool is good, but with it not capable of snapping to the grid while using snapping and a unit setting for precision, it is difficult to get a good result from.

I'd add it is also a nice idea if we could then use the measure tool segments as Construction Lines of a sort, allowing use for snapping new geometry to them. Most of the Measure Tool and MeasureIt addon usage seems to have been configured for reporting what is already modeled instead of setting up for precise modeling to be done after measurements are decided.
