Bring back image as world background in all shading modes
Hi, in Blender 2.79 there was a feature like this i.stack.imgur.com/k1TNs.jpg where you could display the world background in the viewport in all shading modes. AFAIK this has been reduced to being only a solid color now in 2.8. I would really like this feature to be back. Thanks.

I just spent the last few hours wondering why this was the case? It renders the background hdr dropdown presets in Cycles, but not Eevee? It was driving me crazy, but it's obviously hard-coded like the lookdev(material preview) mode. Adding the hdr presets to the rendered viewport was a great idea, but please enable it to be visible in the background for Eevee as well as Cycles. Cycles: [img] i.imgur.com/8ESMceB.jpg%5B/img ]

Specifically why would you like to have that feature? What do you use it for?
* @Jason van Gumster * I used it a lot in 2.7x to precision model from a 360 photo or to for example photo map a 360, like this guy does here: youtube.com/watch It's kind of like using fspy+blender to model from images except with a 360 photo.
* @Jason van Gumster * I think giving a choice is a good idea. This can help quickly choose an HDRI from a menu of lots of choices. In the world shader editor, one must open the texture browser each time.
It would also be nice to have a way of copying the HDRI in the material preview to an environment texture node. But that's an idea for another thread.
* @Josephbburg * I get it, but the use case wasn't exactly obvious, so I figured I'd ask.
