Add Vertex Groups Option for Rim Crease in Solidify Modifier

Currently there is an option to crease edges for inner, outer, and rim edges from the solidify modifer. This makes it handy for getting sharp edges when it's used with the subsurf modifier.

However, the modifier will crease every edge for these parameters, and user has no control over which rim edges to crease. It would be helpful if vertex groups were added to determine which rim edges to crease.

Currently it is only possible to achieve the following result by applying the modifier and manually creasing the edges.

insted of vertex groups maybe better will be adding in bevel modifier option bevel crease? so with combination solidify - bevel and subdiv we will have beveled only creases in solidify borders we want so like Inner and outer. There is no need to manualy chose vertexes. this could be very helpfoul specialy in curve objects.

Yes, That would help a lot to keep thing procedural, otherwise you have to apply the solidify modifier and manually add creases.

@wws3d has a point. You can use vertex bevel weight and complex solidify here. The vertex bevel will be transferred as a edge bevel weight on the edge created by it. This way you can control exactly what the bevel modifier bevels before you subsurf.

Just to clarify, creasing the edges lengthwise wouldn't work for cases when the object bends since it would disrupt the curvature:

I'm having the most issues with these cases and it's the reason why I wrote this proposal.
