Curve Input Type for Geometry Nodes

As some of you might have noticed after the release of the new hair system a lot of node groups have been created by the community and even by the blender animation team for the purpose of adding effects to sculpted hair.

Some of those node groups have float curve nodes to control the strength of noise along the hairs, clumping, etc. To access the float curve node you have to open up the geometry nodes editor which is not ideal since all of the other settings can be accessed from the modifier window.

That can be fixed by adding support for the curve (& color ramp) input on the geometry nodes modifier.

This is a rough concept of what it could look like:

Disconnected curve_input_3.jpg Connected to the group input curve_input_2.jpg

This idea was marked as a duplicate of expose curve node's interface to geometry node modifier UI.

To avoid the modifier UI becoming huge, we should probably have support for making subpanels as part of the exposed modifier interface before adding this. Seems like an interesting feature otherwise though.

Please! This would be so cool, especially for add-on makers!

This is a very essential feature. I hope it gets added soon

Maybe with a smaller preview icon or something instead, analogous to the color picker. So the modifier won't be overloaded with 2 profile editors already.
