Preserve "Repeat Action" after you undo it.

Most of the times when I'm modeling I have to undo the action to see if it's doing what I want. Or let's say the "repeat action" is a Merge at the moment.

If I merge something right, merge another thing right, then merge one wrong when I still have to keep doing it after - and undo this, the repeat action is now gone.

It could be preserved when you go back a single step because "undoing" is not being registered as an action.

I don't know if this was clear, but there are multiple cases in how this is useful, let it be from moving things in a small direction or doing merge actions like I mentioned.

I agree with you that this would be nice. I'd also REALLY like an option to somehow have my latest setup in the undo panel happening again when I use the tool again.

Let's say I bevel something, then do some modified edge select - with this last action I just lost the Shift+R "redo last action" - so when I try to bevel again it doesn't remember my latest bevel amount at all.

Many many many times I'd want that though.

If you find this interesting perhaps you can extend your proposal with this as they seem closely related.

Blender not has the Nonlinear history. Like the ''painting-stylized-strokes-art-history tool'' of Photoshop. Maybe it is hard to active in blender (or it is not important for mesh software)

I don’t know, but if they didn’t account the undo into what’s recorded for the repeat action it might work?
