Shortcut detection problem for tablet user
Intro
There are 2 types of shortcuts in Blender
- General shortcuts that work regardless of the location of the mouse pointer. such as 'Ctrl+S'
- Window specific shortcuts that work only when the mouse pointer is hovering on the specific window.
The issue is about the second type of shortcuts that happens to tablet users.
Problem
For tablet users, Blender doesn't recognize the mouse pointer when the tablet pen is further from the surface even though the mouse pointer stays on the window. So shortcuts that are tied to specific windows don't work at all. It's very difficult to utilize shortcuts when users need to press the shortcuts with a pen in hand or require two hands to operate.
Solution
To be able to recognize the mouse pointer based on the current location regardless of the distance between the pen and the tablet surface.

I dont have such problem. When i lift my pen beyond range, cursor stays at same place and it works. What OS and tablet do You have?
btw
This is not "solution" :p. Its desired behavior. Solution would be eg. use last known cursor position, when Blender somehow detects if cursor is beyond range.
yes blender should be more user friendly to tablet and touch devices, it is helpful when we want to do things outside our home.
I use Windows 10. however, I found the solution today, tablet user needs to enable Windows INK in the system preference > input > tablet API> Windows Ink. then the shortcut works regardless of the distance between the stylus and the surface of the tablet.
