Continue selecting past the screen area, same as how drag works
Whenever we are selecting something and we know exactly what is offscreen and want to keep with the selection we have to pan the area to be able to.
What if this limitation was lifted while performing a selection? It would only activate during the action, same as when we try to drag or scale past the screen area. Would be SUPER useful on daily tasks, specially when working with close up models.

but selecting is (afaik) screen space operation, or at least viewpoint based, it used to be done by openGL, I don't know if its still the case. But it is still most likeley technical limitation to have only selectable things in viewing frustum.
Also Blender have rule of allowing selection only what is visible. Thats why there is no Select Through /xray option ¯_(ツ)_/¯.
but couldnt this be related to the cursor position? Maybe in edit mode it could behave differently? I think it would be a good feature for modeling even if it's not how it's currently coded anyway..
Need to consider what happens if user is in camera view.
The same way it would work in the viewport, since the function to drag continuously is still available in camera view
I suppose it would need to bring the user out of locked cam view and switch to unlocked. I certainly don't want to drag the cursor through the scene and have the camera dragged along with it.
Overall to the basic idea, this is not a feature I would want. Some Adobe applications scroll the canvas during selection in this manner, and usually I just hate it.
oh no! I didn't mean for it to be dragged, not the view. Just the cursor could momentarily "pass through" the view to select further. Moving the view would work for me as well and you're right regaring the camera lock. But I just want to be able to extend the selection
