Invert the necessity of holding Alt when desiring to change multiple objects at the same time
Blender seems to be the only software I know where It forces you to have to actually hold Alt when you have multiple objects selected to make an alteration on the properties panel or the N-panel such as rotating all or aplying any change.
This makes It very un-intuitive to down right making many users think It is not possible to even do it in Blender till they finally realize It. Not only that, but It is even not very clear as to what property or N-property or function can or cannot be used in conjunction with Alt as the technique as It is doesn't seem to work everywhere (adding modifiers or changing materials for example) in the program ,and typing a value to the have to alt+Enter to actually apply it to all selected instead of just hitting Enter like out of automatic just so it works for everything doesn't seem like a logical workflow.
My proposal is to not necessarily remove the necessity of Alt but to at least invert it so by pressing Alt in do the change to only the active object and otherwise to do It to all selected objects. This way It'll be more intuitive (after all you've spent time selecting many objects beforehand just for that) you can just type and hit enter like you normally would and It's clear from the start when It's still not possible to change that specific property instead of doubting if you've really hit the key and trying again to just then find out It doesn't work.

Seems like this is only personal preference. I am used to it and feels intuitive to me. Someone new finds it unintuitive until they get used to it... so what?..
Well... why not having at least the option in the Preferences settings then?
