Primitives in Blender is a must-have

In other 3d apps there is a very basic, but powerful technique, that Blender is not able to reproduce. Any primitive added to the scene stays editable as long as needed for further changes, until user decide to "flatten" the mesh to create non-procedural object (this is what we have in Blender - kind of).

I suspect, that geo nodes are the answer but they are not exactly the same, and not integrated with other Blender default tools, which is very needed. The same way some add-ons, which provides ability to add this kind of primitives to Blender are not integrated with other tools. Ideal situation would be to be able to use some modifiers (probably not all of them but hopefullu boolean and subdiv) and still be able to change number of segments etc.

Having those primitives is a absolutely must-have for any modeler and there is no good workaround for that, no matter if we create own objects with screw modifier, use add-ons etc. It must be a part of Blender aside from geo nodes.

This is in the long term geometry nodes

Geo Nodes although provide much more functionality are part of a visual programming language. Using them is different from user experience perspective. Primitives are used constantly for fast blocking models and fast iterate blocks without any effort and thinking. I support geo nodes as a perfect way to achieve many results impossible to do in any other way but still... few very simple objects, that are not a part of geo nodes but regular "mesh-like" workflow are needed. I see no harm to have both, especially, that add-ons creators showed it is not hard to implement. But it must be a coherent part of Blender, not an add-on.

What I mean is that creating primitives will just be creating empty objects with configured nodes

Was this explicitly mentioned anywhere, or we assuming that it should be the case in the future? Not that I would mind it, I think it makes sense, just that I only ever saw talks about making modifiers GN down the line, not the primitives.

I am curious if it will be much different, then geo nodes, that can be added to Asset Library right now (few primitives are still missing, hopefully they will be added.
