Use file compression option for autosaves
Autosaves should be able to use file compression as well. Not only would this save some space, with file sizes approaching multiple gigabytes, un-compressed saving seems to become slower than compressed saving especially on HDDs.

Maybe only store changes (reverse) in that files and only the last of the row (if you have 15 save files, store the 15. complete and 13 only the changes and the first one also complete, maybe the last one with compression but then with the possibility to easyly restore from safepoint?
