File > Open dialog should be able to open shortcuts
File > Open dialog should be able to open (.lnk) shortcuts.
EDIT : shortcuts that lead to other folders.
The idea is from this post: blenderartists.org/t/blender-2-80-open-file-dialog-cannot-open-shortcuts/1164222 and really makes sense.

What's this a shortcut to? Another .blend file (like soft links in Linux)? Or do you think that Blender's File Browser should be able to launch other applications that have shortcuts?
* @Jason van Gumster * Not applications, no. I meant Windows shortcuts that lead to other folders.
* @ xan2622 * Thanks for the clarification.
* @ xan2622 * I prefer to use favorites. Works like local shortcuts. But yes, it would be nice. BUT it is work and time for this feature. And it should have low priority.
By 'shortcuts' I presume you are referring to aliases / symlinks.
* @billrey * While Windows also supports symlinks, shortcuts aren't quite the same thing. Whereas symlinks are supported at the filesystem level and just work without any additional support, shortcuts are files with metadata that needs to be parsed in order to figure out where they're pointing.
