Convex Hull - Selection and Group Index

Currently, the Convex Hull node only accepts a Geometry input, which means I have to Delete Geometry I don't want to be included in the Convex Hull . Convex Hull Concept.png That is why I propose adding two new outputs to the Convex Hull node. One being Selection (boolean field) and the other being Group Index (integer field).

The Selection input is just whether or not to include a point in the process.

The Group Index input is a bit more complex. By default the Group Index is set to 0 for all, meaning all inputted and selected points will get included in the same convex hull. But if I were to input some kind of field which groups different points into different groups, then only the points with all the same Group Index will be included in one Convex Hull , as I call it.

Example

Beneath you see an example of how the end result might look like.

My problem to solve: making convex meshes worn down, keeping multiple mesh islands separate.

Solution with this new node:

  1. Transfer Attribute the Mesh Island Island Index
  2. Distribute Points on Faces
  3. Convex Hull using the Attribute output in the Group Index input, to select what points should be together.

Definitely need this sort of thing if you want to Convex Hull pairs of instances.
