Axis indicator should be perpetual when moving using [G]
Currently, the X, Y, and Z axes indicator disappears as soon as the G key is pressed.
However, it's important to be able to visually reference each axis direction while using the Grab tool.

Blender displays the current axis as an infinite line and even in the axis colors, which is much less abtrusive than the gizmo. Where would be the benefit of displaying the gizmo during transform over a line (or two lines if you move in a plane instead of just one axis)?
For convenience G grab tool first moves the object parallel to the viewport. So most of the time the axes won't match to anything else, but Your point of view. Here, showing axes doesn't make sense, sensei.
But you can press the [Shift +] x,y,z buttons (twice to switch local/global, third time to switch axis restriction off) - and after that Blender clearly shows you the axes.
I get what you're saying, but that doesn't do much for new users or people who work with multiple 3D apps. Sure, it's fine for people who have memorized the Blender axis colors and can just look at the color of the axis line and think, "Okay, I'll press the Y key to constrain to the Y axis."
And the axis gizmo on the object itself isn't much use when you're zoomed in on the corner of a large object, are trying to move it along a specific axis, and the gizmo is off-screen.
At the end of the day, it's no skin off your back to at least have the option to enable a persistent axis indicator at top right of the interface, even when in Grab mode. After all, [G] is the official keyboard shortcut for Move, so might as well offer the same top-right viewport indicator that the Move icon offers.
