New shapes from other types of objects or collections.

I suggest having automatic conversion for object shapes. Meshes, curves, surfaces, grease pencil and metaballs should be converted to the data type of the active object.

Currently all "convert to" actions, for example:
·Curve from Mesh / Text,
·Mesh from Curve / Meta / Surf / Text,
·Path, Bezier Curve, Polygonal Curve from Grease Pencil,
...
creates a new object, but they do not have any relation with the original one. If the original object is modified, the object created with the action is not updated. In some cases the original object is destroyed, while in others it is not, as in Bezier Curve from Grease Pencil.

I think it would be advisable that "convert to" act as a modifier, or a linked copy to the original. In this case objects would call other types of data from the properties of active "Object Data". For example, Mesh objects should be able to call curves as a reference and to generate a new mesh.

In this way the connection between objects would be constant, and for example you could:
·Keep the Grease Pencil animations even if they turned into curves.
·Conserve mesh deformations by transforming boundary loops to curves.
·Apply deformers to several objects at the same time without modifying or having to group the original objects.
·Perform booleans between collections.
...

The current object would be generated from the grouping or conversion of another or a collection. These object should accept any other type of compatible object, including objects of the same type or collections. If the called objects are of another type they should automatically be converted to the active object type. If the called objects are the same object as the base, simply make a grouping.

nokipaike

necessary features:

step 1 --> everything nodes

step2--> non-destructive modeling

step 3 --> background automation of conversions between nurbs, curves, surfaces and mesh ... all that appear as the same type of objects ... in this way it would not be enough to start blender to the CAD world, like rhino, moi3d, fusion ..etc ..
