Filename input focus by default when using 'save as' from render image viewer
A simple one, though this may take some explaining to show what I'm specifically talking about:
1: Render any image
2: In the resulting 'blender render' window (after rendering is complete), click 'image' --> 'save as'
3: A file dialog is opened to choose where to save the file, what to name it, etc.
4: In order to save the file with a new name, you must first click the filename text box in that file dialog.
5: Then you can type the new filename and hit [enter] to save.
What I'm suggesting is a very small change to eliminate step 4 there. When the 'save as' file dialog is opened, the focus and cursor should default to the filename text box, with the existing text selected and ready to be replaced.
While this is a very small difference, I think it's a good idea for two main reasons:
-
By far the most common use for 'save as' (rather than plain 'save') is to save the file with a different filename. (Such as when making multiple versions of an image.)
-
Step 4 in the instructions above requires mouse input, while everything else can be done with pure keyboard input. Taking a hand off the keyboard to work the mouse for this slows down the process significantly, especially if you're using 'save as' repeatedly to make a lot of different copies.
