UVeditor view scaling along x/y

So imagine you have really long or wide uvmap. Like a road or side of tall tower or whatever. You have some triangles so edge select with alt-click does not work. You need to select an edge along it but because you can not zoom it to fit your screen you can only do it slowly and tediously by going through it one screen space at a time selecting what you can see. Or change your background image to different ratio. Like if you are working on a 4096x4096 and the uvmap is maybe 16k tall then you can switch to 1000x16000 image and now it is possible to work on.

Idea is to make that setting separate from the image size so you can zoom laterally and vertically into your uvmaps. With this you can zoom vertically into a tall uvmap and still have it laterally be as wide as it was so have the space to select the verts you need laterally while also having the full uvmap visible vertically.

In this sample pic you have a square image with a tall uv map. When you zoom out you can no longer select vertical edge loops because it is too narrow because you zoomed out. But now you can vertically see the whole thing on your screen. If you zoom in then most of the uvmap is outside of your screen. But if you could zoom in just vertically you can see the whole thing while still having laterally enough room to select vertical edges with box select for example. At the bottom of the image is a toolbar suggestion for this feature. Ideally you'd have toolbar and keyboard shortcut for this but the way it works is that you simply adjust the ratio of view. 1:1 is like it is now. 16:1 is laterally 16x zoomed in while vertically it is 1x.
