Trace mouse direction before showing pie menu
Hello everyone,
I've been using Blender for some time now, and one think that I never felt quite right was the pie menus.
I checked a bit on Maya, that got the best pie menu of all the softwares I tried so far, and I think I understand why it is so easy to use them in Maya.
Before actually showing the menu, there is a kind of mouse trace, that will register in which direction was going the mouse, to select this entry in the pie menu, instead of registering the last position.
In this video you can see what I'm talking about
Blender in comparison will miss if you don't have enough space to make the pie menu appear centered to the mouse:
Basically, in Maya the pie Menu will appeared after around 15/100 of a second if the mouse is not moving (the timer in the video is based on 60fps):
You can see here that the trace will continue as long as I move the mouse:
And if I'm stopping moving at some poimt, I'll have this 15/100 of a second before the menu appear:
So I think it would be nice to be able to enable the kind of same mouse trace, as an option so poeple that don't want it wouldn't have it.

I found this addon that is doing what I want:
github.com/AIGODLIKE/gesture_helper
Unfortunately it takes some time to configure since it doesn't replace the behavior of the original pie menus.
The pie menu animation can be adjusted in Preferences > Interface > Menus > Pie Menus. I believe it behaves as desired if you set the Animation Timeout to 0
The problem here is not the animation, the problem is that it doesn't register the direction of the mouse, so if you want to perform very fast action, you have to be sure to that your mouse is exactly where it should be. In this example, I'm tying to select the top selection, but because the menu is appearing higher than my mouse, that mean that I need to go even higher to select this entry, while with a trace registration, it would see that I was going up and would select it even if my cursor is lower than the menu.
