Programmatic access to objects' positions
Hello,
I would like to reference issue T77344 ( developer.blender.org/T77344 ) in which it was identified that it is not currently possible to access an object's position within the follow path constraint via the Python API. Similarly, it is not possible to access individual particles' positions via the API, either. matrix_world does not provide this information. Since these objects and particles are being rendered, the render engine must know their locations. What was discussed within this thread is that the render dependency graph contains this information, yet is not currently accessible via the API.
For those of us engaged in developing procedural animations heavily dependent on Python code which is able to react in real-time to the position of objects and particles within an animation and make changes accordingly, the lack of access of this positional data is a severe constraint.
I would like to make a request to further develop the API to expose either the render dependency graph or positional information to allow us to take direct control of objects and particles while they are in motion.
Thanks very much.
