Universal Scroll Functionality Integration For Tablet Input Only to Change Values

Let me explain this weird title.

Personally, I prefer working with my Wacom tablet without using the scroll disk on the tablet or my mouse. Every time I want to use the proportional editing, loop cut tool, or any other scroll-based input I have to use my mouse or the disk on my tablet.

The bevel operation solved this by adding the shortcut S to change the segment amount by moving the pen up and down. By pressing A the user can change the width again. This is so great for speed that I thought it should be implemented as an additional option to all scroll-based input operations.

What do you guys think?

Cheers, Beau

This problem is a lot wrose on Loop cut operation, its literally hard coded into using scroll wheel or numpad+/- to change number of cuts.

the best solution would be implementing same "Loop cut Modal Map" subsection in shortcut opeators like bevel, so at least you could remap the keys to something more egonomic for tablet users Image

Yes please yes! I work on Wacom too, my whole blender pipeline has no mouse, so I have to go to PgUp/PgDn to increase/decrease number of cuts/loops

I wonder what Wacom and Blender settings you are using. If you use the middle mouse button emulation, you can set the lower pen button to the mouse scroll event, just try all available options.

So, what is this " universal scroll function" supposed to look like? I don't see a suggestion.

For example, there is code for trackpad, in every function where the scroll wheel is used, that converts Ctrl + trackpad-scroll to mouse scroll. Well, probably not in every function, the developers forget to add it.

Yes please! The other problem not having a scroll wheel is selecting materials or textures in their dropdown boxes when you have a lot of them. You have to use scroll wheel or type material/texture name.
