Set Bezier resolution per segment

Idea: allow the setting of resolution per segment on a bezier curve, rather than only per-spline.

Spent most of the night figuring out the best way to create an optimal mesh from a bezier. This bezier has a number of curves adjoined to straight lines. I need a resolution around 24 to get the result needed. When I convert this to a mesh I get 24 vertices on all straight lines, which is not needed and causing very small sharp faces.

If the spline were all straight using vector control points, I know Blender would optimize them. But what I'm not seeing is a way to keep resolution on the curved segments while lowering it on the straight ones in the same spline.

Proposal would be to add a "segment resolution" property when 2 connected control points are selected. Alternative (which would actually be easier on the user) would be the ability to set "don't add resolution to straight lines", possibly with an angle selector.
