Add an option to see always the wrong normals
Whenever I'm modeling, I have to click the "Face orientation" check once in a while, and believe it or not, it ends up being time-consuming. I was wondering if you think it's possible to add an option just right to the face orientation check that says "show always," or something like that.
When you press it, all the objects should continue to have the solid view (like a normal viewport), but the faces with incorrect normal orientations show in red color.
Please consider this idea because, in my case, I would definitely use it. You click it at that start of you r modelling session and forget about it!

Hi, it's easy to set the blue overlay to transparent in the theme and save the preferences. This way you can keep the option on all the time.
Exact! I know a few modelers that set the blue fully transparent, and also reduce the red's transparency to remain visible but visually non-distractive.
go to edit/preference/theme/3d viewport, click on face orientation front and slide alpha value all the way down to zero. additionally if you want face orientation option to always active, you can enable it right after opening blender and go to file/defaults/ save startup file, confirm and you are done .
