Join vertices with "F" hotkey as we do with "J" shortcut

The "F" shortcut doesn't add new vertices to the in-between edges just putting new edges over the existing geometry.

I just wondering Is this behavior is desirable to anyone. I would like it to slice the in-between edges just as the "J' command.

F key is a bit awkward but useful tool, but it basically creates new faces and edges - if you select like 2 edges, then press F, it creates a triangle. If you select 4 edges, it creates a quad. Then if you select 2 vertices, and press F, you create a NEW edge between those vertices (usually not connected to existing face?). And another way this tool works - select (for example) two joined quads, and press F - This will remove existing quads and create a new ngon. So it is a multipurpose tool without any proper UI, but ain't definitely a way to cut existing faces using 2 or more verts.

Yep, for faces and edges it works great, but I'm not sure how can i use its current behavior with vertices. I mean if we enable it to cut other edges in-between selected, maybe we could get rid of the "Join" command as unnecessary.

Yes. And based on how you're saying you want it to work, it sounds like you're not using a different tool (such as knife or subdivide) when you should.
