Blender manual: make the menu sticky and highlighted

When clicking on a topic in the left hand column on the blender manual page. the entire page (nav and doc part) is refreshed instead of just the right column (doc part). This makes is cumbersome since the user have to scroll down and remember where they were on every page refresh.

The clicked/current topic isn't highlighted either in the navigation which makes the navigation more difficult.

Would it be possible to make the navigation sticky (stays scrolled in the same position) while only updating the right column (document part)? Would also be handy with a Blender blue highlight of the current topic in the nav menu.
