Keep Expressions in Value Fields
Keep the expressions in the input value fields so it is easy to edit them again. Evaluate the values in the background but without changing the text in the input fields.

I like this idea, but I think that there should be a means of showing the current value produced by that expression. Perhaps the expression is only seen when you click in the field?
Also mark the field with some type of visual feedback (color, for example), and show the expression in the hint without needing to click on it.
Speaking only for myself, I'd prefer not to use color since we're already using that mechanism to show drivers and keyframes (things that pertain to the Graph Editor). Perhaps an icon of some sort?
Very good Idea and I agree with Fweeb on the result display until you want to edit.
