Expand/Shrink Selection Node

As in Edit Mode, a node that allows to expand or Contract the selection (in edit mode the operators are called "select more" and "select less"; Ctrl + , Ctrl -). The node would have a drop down to chose the domain (points/edges/faces), a boolean input socket for the selection, and an integer number of expansion iterations Expand-Shrink Selection Node_1.jpg Expand-Shrink Selection Node_2.jpg (the example above is not real of course, you wouldn't see the selection in edit mode)

Actually we could have either 2 nodes (expand and shrink/contract) or 1 node with a drop down to expand or shrink in the same node

I don't think selections are something that geometry nodes can interact with at all. They're just for the user to modify geometry, from the perspective of all the parts like the renderer, modifiers, geometry nodes etc they don't exist. They can interact with the geometry itself and its additional data. I think a node for expanding a vertex group would be an option, it would pretty much do the same thing since you can easily select all vertices in from a group, but with the added advantage of having all the extra features vertex groups provide

Totally agree, the term "selection" is fictionasl in GN. This node would just give you more control on the domain group affeted by a node
