A Mesh Generation Node

Currently the only way to make custom meshers inside Geometry Nodes is by creating all the faces separately and then merging them which is inefficient. In contrast, with python, bmesh makes it very simple and something similar could exist in GN. As lists of lists are not currently possible, this is my proposition :

A multi-input socket with each index attribute representing one vertex of a face

  • 4 indices for quad generation, 3 for tris... and more is rarely needed so it is not too messy.
  • For tris mixed with quads, just fill the 4th attribute of the tris with a negative value.

Multi field don't exist :/ The simplest alternative is to not support n-gon and have 4 fields.
