Global search filter for properties in tabs
Problem
Any 3D application like blender have tons of settings and parameters in a given context which you can tweak. Given a tab like render settings has roughly 70 settings which you can play with. The good thing is they are nicely organized into panels. But, When you want to change a parameter you need to go through the list of panels, identify the correct one and open it based on it toggle state and modify the value. Its a time taking process for everyday power user and it can be optimized a bit
Solution
Provide a global search bar on top of each tab which will filter the parameters available in the panels. Eg, Render settings will have a search bar, up on typing resolution it will show only render resolution settings, filtering everything else.
Implementation
This is inspired by the way Unreal Engine works. Where all the settings are searchable. They do have the ability to mark the settings as favorite. Link to Unreal documentation
Resources
Jacques Lucke did an amazing POC for both flex layout and global search in the tabs. you can find it here! VIDEO

If I'm not mistaking, Pablo Vazquez said that it was planned, I think it was in the single collum UI video on Blender Developers's Youtube channel.
@loic.dautry: Hey! Thanks for pointing that out. I did a search and found more interesting implementation by Jacques Lucke. I updated the proposal with that.
That guy is awesome ♥
@loic.dautry: yep! Can't agree more!
I have used this a lot in UE4, and love it. It would make sense in Blender - specially in it's panel system.
