Fuzz node options like Renderman

"A parameter to introduces a bit of retroreflection and helps simulate fabrics, fuzz, and fine powder."

Like the idea of being able to quickly add this soft fuzz surface look. 🐻

cycles does have the velvet bsdf node that produces a similar effect. is there some specific aspect of this implementation that you'd like to see in the velvet node? docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/render/shader_nodes/shader/velvet.html

* @stevemillerband * uhh Thanks. I will use that. I assumed what Blender calls Sigma is what Pixar calls "Cone angle" ?

* @hemdrup * you can also take advantage of the sheen parameter in pricipled bsdf node.

* @johnpdelacruz28 * sheen is not as strong as fuzz, and doesnt have the exact same effect

* @Julien * Maybe. It is probably dependent also to the roughness, specular, and metalness parameters.

If u tinker with all these settings u might get some similar effects. You also just have to increase the sheen values higher than 1 or 2.

i confess i don't know too much about the physics of the shader. i assume they both try to replicate the specular distribution for fine hairs pointing out from the surface normals, but how they map that distribution is kinda opaque. the pixar one seems to have values well above one, while the velvet node seems to want to be mapped between 0-1. the times i've used this node i've just dialed in a value to taste rather than anything physically motivted. * @hemdrup *

* @stevemillerband * 👍 Found the Sheen dialed about 1 or 2 gave almost a similar effect.
