Particle Flow (3ds max) Nodes
Hi Blender Community,I don't know exactly how the development of particle and simulation nodes are progressing, but there are a few things about the pflow system I like in 3dsmax and maybe they can find there way in a new blender release.- Collision Spawn: Pretty simple, but in the current version(2.77) of Blender, it's pretty hard (still with some errors) to achieve. If a particle hits the collision object or objects it spawns new particles (with attributes to adjust like spawn just once and kill the parent, inherit velocity, bounce on collision object OR let it pass through, etc...) - Age Test: If a particle is older/younger than a specific value go into another event ( spawn, random velocity, etc...) - Split Amount: Splits the particle (in the image in 50 / 50) and sends one half to another node. - Lock/Bond: Locks the particles on a specific surface but allow them to move on that object(also animatable)There are other nodes(image attached) that are in most cases pretty similar, but I think with this few nodes a lot of common particle systems can be build

When making a proposal, it's best not to say "make it like X other program" since you can't count on other users or developers sharing that same frame of reference. It would be best to describe features as how they would fit in Blender.
For this example, it's almost sufficient to say "bring back the reactor particles we had in 2.4x" :)
Blender 2.8 want to be "everything nodal". When it's done, your proposal can be a great idea ; adding more node to more control.
Yeah.. well, in a few years.
One of the things I miss more on Blender is the ability to change particle size over time, like you can do with Particular on After Effects
You can change particle size over time by using a texture.
Does this work with emitter particles?
This would be awesome, unfortunately "everything nodes" project is postponed and probably we will not have anything like this for a long, long time.. few years probably. I am very sad about that also.
As far as I know, someone started working on something like this, and then froze the project. Would be great to see it come to life again
