Detecting current renderer in a shader, is it possible?

Was just wondering, is there a way to use a shader node to check which renderer is currently enabled in Blender?

This is possible by using a different output node for each renderer.

How could that be usefull? We can do specyfy different outputs for each renerer so possibly that what You wanna achieve coulbe be done that way (via other output)

* @Pawel Piotrowski * If an artist wanted to share an asset with the community and make sure it looks as good (or identical) as possible in both cycles and eevee but without needing 2 completely different material nodes.

For support questions, you should probably post in the support section of BlenderArtists.org . However, if you'd like to propose this idea as a possible new feature for Blender, I'd suggest that you include a bit more information. For instance, you could create an image mock-up that shows how a "shader check" node might work in a material network.

* @Jason van Gumster * Thanks! I was going to write a feature request, then considered that it might already be possible, so I mistakenly asked here. My apologies.
