Face Orientation - Alternative display options (bring old normal shading back as suplement to new Face Orientation)
Again, I like the new Face Orientation view to display normal directions (its much easier to decipher than the old normal shading). However, I feel that (for the sake of beginners - and easier troubleshooting in general), the old normal shading should probably be brought back as a supplement. Currently, without explicitly turning Face Orientation on, there is nothing to immediately warn you that something is amiss with your normals (you have to know to check Face Orientation, or you'll have to deal with incorrectly faced normal problems later in the pipeline). How is a beginner to know that something is wrong until much later in the process?

this has been requested multiple times, and is brought up at least once in every blender today stream. search for 'backface' here and see all the results. I would expect that they will add darkened shading for backfaces, but in the meantime you could enable backface culling or use a custom shader setup in eevee
