Have the exclude option for collections animatable.

Especially for large projects.
It would be nice if the exclusion option where animateable.
It would speedup rendering and preview.
If we can hide stuff that's not in the view of the camera
(for example objects inside another object).

You can make an animation of trucks, hiding cargo and driver,
- make them visible in shots of driver or when unloading.
Or hide blood vessels when showing full body in medical projects.
Having a landscape able to hide houses who are far away and out of view.

It speeds up my animation in 6 times in some places. I switch it by hands for now. But I think it's possible to animate it by drivers and a python script. The links I'm reading now: blender.stackexchange.com/questions/142108/how-can-i-exclude-a-collection-from-rendering-with-python blender.stackexchange.com/questions/27465/running-a-script-for-each-frame

I managed to animate it by a script. "ScriptAnimated" collection is a collection with collections that I animate by the script. "Отметки" is an example of collection I animate by the script. "ScriptAnimated" is the parent of "Отметки". I have a long list with "keyframes" and collections in my script. And I have to run the script every time I open the blender file. I added motion blur animation too, because motion blur is sometimes buggy in 2.91. And I don't understand why such things aren't animatable. I guess everything should be aniimatable once it can be "animatable" by a script. pastebin.com/MvuMeumb

It is not animatable thing now. Collection excludes objects from scene (memory) if objects velong only to this collection. So it will force to recalculate BVH and rebuild scene (reallocate memory) for each switch. Use collection instancing, if you want to hide objects in bulk.

Exclude is option not for hiding, it is option for compositing render layers.

there is a huge problem with this option when animating visibility for instance collection or for objects hiding visibility won't exclude it from memory I have a huge scene with lot of objects hidden and animated and its impossible to render because BVH builds just freezes my pc. without keyframes, all work well, adding keyframes to visibility all freezes in cycles.
