Allow Selection of Text with cursor in the F2 object name panel.
Right now you can't use the mouse cursor to select parts of the object's name to rename. You can't place the blinking text icon to parts of the name to rename it either. Its only possible with directional arrow keys. This is annoying and makes the F2 rename almost useless. GIF below.
How to upload gifs? Mine doesnt seem to be playing.

I would suggest to make all characters selected by default. You don't press F2 to add something to the name but rather to change it completly
(sidenote: GIFs will work if added to the body of your proposal post, but not as the main image that gets a thumbnail)
