Curve Cut
We have the knife tool and so far it seems to just do straight lines which is nice and all but a lot of us also use it to make a lot of ngons which will be extruded to add say a bit more detail to brick walls. However, not everything is perfectly straight some things are very curvy that can use this. Yes with the knife tool you can spend a while doing it to get it right. I was thinking though what if we used the curve tools. Create the curves to align to whatever and then add say a cut modifier to it or a knife modifier. The other method would be adding it to the knife tool. As in you can just use knife sharp, and knife curve tool.
However, the latter seems less customizable. I am aware of boolean operations but they are not exactly what I speak of. Yes if you wriggle things right you may can get something to work.
We could in fact take it even further. Knife Sharp, Knife Curve, and Knife Free Hand (i.e. using grease pencil/annotations for this one. As if you are sketching not what is there).

There is a Knife project in Mesh menu. Select curve then select mesh and faces then knife project. This use view angle to project.
* @yasharjk * Yes. But I wish this could be more exposed and intuitive. Selecting things in object mode in a certain order and then going into edit more to access a menu item is a bit difficult. I don't use knife project much and when I do, (keep in mind I'm colorblind), by the time I get to the menu item and see it doesnt work because I selected things in the wrong order, I've forgotten what order I selected them in so there's a good chance on my 2nd and 3rd try I'll have selected them in the wrong order once again. You won't believe the number of times I've renamed my objects "1.cookiedough" and "2.cookiecutter" just so I could use the knife project properly.
* @thinsoldier * Sounds like it could just be a modifier. Select Curve, Select Knife Project Modifier, Select model with an eyedropper, and bam done. Now I got to find this thing called knife project. Thanks Yasharjk.
* @yasharjk * Tried it, did not work very well at all.
* @thinsoldier * Click the knife object, shift-click the object to be cut, hit tab, hit f3 search for knife and it should show up. Set it to quick favorites or something similar to help with it.
* @yasharjk * Works better after a lot of Sub D-ing. Not quite like the knife tool.
