Import-Export CAD objects as Solids/Body types

I know it is not reasonable to compare Blender with other softwares, but as Blender is spreading in a wide range of workflows, i guess it is time we should focus more on CAD import and Export options. I have read some requests posted in RCS about CAD like snapping and CAD tools, but i am not going to focus on that here.

So to begin, i am using 3DS Max for the past couple of days and noticed that 3DS Max can import many types of CAD files without converting them as Meshes and using a Modifier (Body Object) it can configure basic parameters of that solid, like adjusting the Quality . Not only the CAD object shows in the viewport but it can also be rendered with Materials in Arnold render engine . This can be very useful as you will get the same object which you modeled in a CAD software and don't have to convert it to OBJ and mess with the Normal values, plus adjusting the quality of the object will be a lot easier.

Now we know Blender uses Modifiers just like 3DS Max, so to my little knowledge i can understand that it can also have a new Modifier just like the BODY OBJECT and configure Cycles to render those objects. If this gets implemented in Blender along with the CAD like snapping tools, it will be a game changer.

Since Blender supports parametric Surfaces modeling, it would be great to be able to export those objects in some CAD standard file format. AFAIK currently (2024) there still is not a single export file format option in Blender that can do that.

It would really be nice to get blender surfaces out of blender as some CAD format.
