More options for curve caps fill

Right now we can only have nothing and triangulated ngon which makes use of some modifiers much harder.

Suggestion:

Add more cap types: ngon, triangle fan

This will allow us to use modifiers like bevel much easier with curves:

I would also like to propose "quads fan":

Works well with bevels (as triangles do), but also helps use other modifiers and modeling tools thanks to preserving a quad-based edge-flow.

triangle fan is pretty easy to do with GN

How?

Like this but as others have mentioned it only works for convex profiles i.imgur.com/hPhXWbN.png

How do you fill this curve with a triangle fan? image

Yeah, some concave shapes with self intersections won't work properly:

Triangle fan might not be most correct name for it since it's just extra segment at end but scaled to zero and merged.

You don't. You use whichever other option is best.

I have unintentionally created 9 new Cinema4D customers who I started off teaching Blender to.

They were graphic designers and desperately needed fillet caps but Blender is miserably lacking in that area. Just the caps and bevels feature and the capsule primitive of C4D was enough to justify the price to them.

Vik, how do you expect to get a good bevel on that swastika with the current triangulated n-gon.

Well, it'd still work with a general ngon. I guess I didn't intend it to be a swastika, sorry, lol
